Development work

Real briefs. Practical solutions.

Selected customer development projects showing how briefs are turned into practical food and manufacturing solutions.

The projects below show how systems and components developed by Knoxx Innovations can be integrated into a manufacturer’s own products and production process. Customer brands, customer relationships and finished-product operations remain with the manufacturer.

Selected projects

Developed around the customer's application.

Customer identities, formulations and technical detail remain confidential. Projects are described only at the level the customer has approved.

Customer project

Coating development

One coating brief. Ten tailored coating solutions.

A single customer brief was developed into ten distinct coating directions. Each one was built around the required flavour, texture, application method and production conditions.

Each direction was assessed in the customer's own application rather than against a generic specification, so the selected system suited both the finished food and the line it had to run on.

Customer project

Retort development

Convenience built into the product.

A shelf-stable retort development project brought several food components together into one customer specific format designed around the finished application.

The format was designed to reduce preparation handling, support more consistent output and limit product wastage where the customer's process allowed.

How projects are described

We do not claim an outcome until it is validated.

Where a customer agrees to benchmark the current state, improvement can be measured against the criteria they define, for example labour, yield, throughput, waste or manufacturing cost. Until that evidence exists, we describe what was developed rather than implying a measured result.

  • Application and sensory evaluation

  • Process and manufacturing review
